Joe Biden has said a lot of concerning things during his time in office.
But perhaps none has been so detached from reality and so thoroughly debunked as the story about the Amtrak conductor, Angelo Negri.
We were one of the first to debunk the story back in May 2021, and my story on it was even cited by CNN in a fact check on Biden. Even they accepted at that point that the story couldn’t possibly have happened. The gist of the story is Biden claimed that he reached over a million miles on Air Force Two while VP, and he told this to Angelo Negri on the Amtrak train when he was going home to visit his mother, who was sick.
The problem? The timing of a million miles on Air Force Two didn’t come until 2015. Angelo Negri retired in 1993 and was dead by 2015. Joe Biden’s mother died in 2010.
Yet he’s still telling the story more than two years later. He’s told the story many times between 2021 and now. He’s still talking about how Negri pinched his cheek and said, “Joey, baby!” alarming the Secret Service agents protecting him. Not only did he tell it again, but he told it twice in less than an hour.
