DNR Accepting Applications for the Maryland Boat Act Advisory Committee

Seeking Individuals with Extensive Boating Knowledge

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for membership to the Boat Act Advisory Committee.

This committee represents all citizens’ uses of Maryland waters and provides recommendations to the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources on boating-related regulation requests, technology, public concerns, etc. Members of the committee must have expert knowledge of and demonstrated interest in the subject matter and typically hold or have held roles within organizations or governments with boating-related activities.

The committee meets approximately five to six times a year. Committee members are appointed to three-year terms, and can apply for reappointment. Individuals interested in being considered for the Boat Act Advisory Committee are encouraged to apply online by December 7, 2023.  Applicants with questions should contact Mike Lathroum at kennethm.lathroum@maryland.gov.
