Concerned Wicomico Citizen Asks WCBOE to Remove Sexually Explicit Materials

A concerned Wicomico citizen cared enough about the children to come out today to make a public comment before the Wicomico County Board of Education. She emphasized the dangers of sexually explicit materials, including pedophilia and bestiality, in which they have allowed to remain in the schools after countless complaints (which they deny). The WCBOE hides behind the policy and process that they created, which was designed to protect and preserve such materials.

    1. Today’s public school system is a threat to the American family value system, including Wicomico County . These board members are pawns to the evil and harm. Everyone of them need to hang their heads in shame.

  1. There is a policy to remove such reading material. The group who continues to spout this message simply refuse to use the system. They would rather keep this going to enhance their DCM agenda to try and increase their lacking membership. Perhaps they can show how many books they have tried to remove following the policy. I’m sure they will have some excuse as to why they haven’t used it.

    1. This must be the RINO GEne or Bonnie or Stauffer…go back to communist china with that CRAP!!!!!!!! Trump has awakened us to your evil DEMOCRAT agenda and we’er coming for you……

  2. I think there are two closely related issues:
    1) Acquisition
Who in the school system decides to buy a questionable book?
Does it get placed in one school or at all of the same grade level schools?
What about bringing interested parents into the dialogue before purchases?
Anyone can write whatever kind of book they wish, and can find a publisher, but that doesn’t impose an obligation on any school or district to purchase it. Let’s keep that in mind.

    2)Removal
If there is an established process to find a book objectionable, what actual results have objecting parents found when they followed the removal process?
Are books with complaints embargoed while complaint works its way through a removal decision?
As above, just because it’s been published doesn’t mean it merits inclusion on the bookshelf.

  3. If it were me, I might remove a book from the library and “misplace” it somewhere in the school. In fact, I might do that a whole bunch of times.

If that wasn’t an option, then I might use my cell phone to record/take pics-video of objectionable material and then post it online from an anonymous account ( you know, like a youtube account with a name like “Young Book Reader’s Club”).
