Soon After Our Post Yesterday Local Media Went Into Defense Mode

Yesterday I questioned the Folk Festival in downtown Salisbury Maryland, will they close up like the Fiddler’s Festival in Berlin Maryland. Mind you, with the weather conditions forecasted with so much rain it will put a massive drain with all vendors, that’s a given. However, your local media is actually trying to make it sound like this is a positive thing.

They’re suggesting it will draw people inside local businesses. People will hang out in the rain with umbrellas and they’re even suggesting you can easily get to your vehicle and stay inside of it until the thunder and lightening goes away.

No matter what the elected officials tell you, the Folk Festival is a massive financial loss in revenue for all of the years it has been here. Their no waste, (trash) is a complete and massive lie but I guess if they say it some people will actually believe it.

For me personally, I’m sick and tired of federal, state and local politicians completely lying and misleading us on almost every topic. It’s going to rain and it’s going to be a horrible weekend, unfortunately. However, to try to brainwash us with obvious BS and thinking we’re going to fall for it is a joke. You need a plan B for this weekend, that’s the truth.

  1. Remember WHO did this to us.
It was Jake Day, Julia Glanz, and the NPR listening Salisbury University crowd. This town is ruled by an elitist group of self described “intellectuals’ who HATE you. Jake started this after meetings with the general manager of WSCL. They DONT CARE about revenue. This is a feel good boondoggle for THEM. Oh, by the way, it will be on WESM, 91.3- so why go downtown? How stupid is it to play live a festival you want people to show up in person for?

Also remember that this is PERMANENT. Jake said that after the National Festival is gone, the Maryland Folk Festival will go on in perpetuity.

I will vote for any candidate, city council or mayor- who can produce accurate numbers (not fake cell phone withs) on how many people attend, how many are from out of town (and not just our local lefties feeling good about themselves) and how much this boondoggle costs. Show me real numbers and what your plan is to either make it financially worthwhile (or why my taxpayer dollars need to be spent on this) or how your will end this mess.

    1. Yea and that Vanesa Junkin on the T.v. this morning is so full of $hit! Nothing but a county reject who sits on her a$$ all day and trys to spoon bull$hit on social media.

  2. I think this is great news, even if it washes out my weekend!
I hate the politically correct, woke, Folk Festival!
I dislike it so much, I made plans to leave town while this is going on.
Even with the rain, its still better to be out of town and away from this trash!
In another words: FOLK THE FESTIVAL!!!! GET THE FOLK OUT OF HERE!
    FOLK OFF OUT OF TOWN!

  3. They’ll have a lot more tidying up to do after the festival. Everyone will throw their trash on the ground and never think to use a trash can.

  4. Maybe between folk sets they can head on over to Aprils ” Indian Reservation” and watch the gangsta dope deals and shootout at Chippewa corral!

  5. Well rickie and crew were shaking in their panties about the pop up weekend. Once again taking down mid and north town speed limit signs and replacing them with 30mph signs. There is no one in town Rick….waste of manpower. Just leave the 10 mile stretch 30mph period. Idiots.

Look at the weather channel long range forecast…whatever the hell coming up the coast stalls next week. Cant put up stages in the rain for aquafest. Could be 2 weekends in a row of nada.

Karma. Then sunfest at the end of Oct? Brrrrrrrr.

    You continue to amuse us.

  6. Not to mention massive backups rivaling the Bay Bridge on the ‘bury’s bike lanes as throngs of festival fans converge on the city intent on spending massive amounts of money on items to be carted away in soggy paper bags. Good times!
