Pennsylvania high school students organize walkout to protest trans bathroom rule: ‘Compromised’ our rights

Students and parents join ‘FOX & Friends First,’ accusing school board of ignoring their views

Hundreds of students from Pennsylvania’s Perkiomen Valley School District walked out of class Friday after the local school board failed to enact a policy requiring transgender students to use the restroom corresponding with their biological sex.

“Kids were upset. Girls… we wanted to protect them. They were upset. They didn’t want men in their bathroom,” John Ott, who organized the walkout, told FOX News on Monday.

His mother Stephanie accused the district of only protecting transgender students and not looking at the “whole picture.”

“The safety of females is so important and these students that stood out that walked out, they are to be commended. They have courage and they exercise their First Amendment rights. This is about protecting our children and our privacy and boys and girls. It’s simple biology.”

  1. Good for them. If mask mandates/remote learning is reinstituted this winter with the new scare tactics already starting to surface, I’m interested to see how parents and students react.

My kids will be identifying as a fish…they don’t breathe air so they don’t need a mask and should be able to learn in-person.

  2. I don’t understand the objections to trans access to girls’ bathrooms. In fact I wouldn’t understand objections to fully coed bathrooms. Girls know that boys are different and vice versa, and it’s good for them to learn to coexist and respect one another at all times. If your concern is about violence, then it seems to me you should focus on prevention of violence and managing kids who demonstrate violent propensities. But you should be doing that anyways, in all contexts, not just about bathroom access. Maybe someone can explain to me?

      1. So you don’t have an explanation, or you just prefer to lash out at me? All I did was ask for an explanation because it didn’t make sense to me. Maybe you could have changed my mind, but instead you just dismissed and tried to insult me. Well, you should direct your self-loathing at yourself, not at me. I’m not the problem. I want kids to respect one another and it seems to me you just want them to fear each other. That’s probably how you were raised, which explains your problems I guess.

        1. There’s nothing to explain. You made your comment, own it. I simply stated how I feel about that statement and you just want to argue. Your type CAN’T be changed. You ARE the problem if you actually support such madness. If, (when I grew up) a BOY walked into a girls bathroom we would’ve kicked your ass, plain and simple. It is how 99.9% of adult Americans feel today. Your 1/10th of 1% of your type better get used to the fact that WE won’t stand for this crap. Is that explanation enough for you?
