It was discovered last week that the Wicomico County Board of Education continues to support obscene materials that are pervasively vulgar to be included in the classroom media center. The WCBOE has modified its policy and procedure over the past year to fully open the door to such materials, even to go as far to even put protections in place to see that they remain. “The process” to request removal is rigged for the house to win every time. After being notified in writing, they have refused to remove obscene materials. The WCBOE has policies that address hate and drug use. Ironically, the latest discovery is a book titled “The Haters” and is found in every one of its high schools. The book contains obscenities, promotes drug use, and even includes beastiality (human sex with animals).

Beyond disgusting. And the parents that ignore it and pretend that it does not affect their kid are mistaken. Any adults that would go through the trouble of purchasing these materials (using taxpayer dollars) absolutely have a sexual agenda to groom kids. Kids aren’t checking these books out of the media center. They’re reading them there and in the classroom with free read assignments where the teacher instructs the kids to pick a book of their choice, write about it and share with the class. Parents need to pull their head out of their ass and wake up, or they’re just enabling perverts to prey on children.

Ok- here’s the problem. Yes, this book is obscene and has no place in public schools. Yes, you should do everything in your power to remove it and fire anyone who approved this trash.

how many of you are letting your children listen to obscene rap music, or (knowingly or unknowingly) letting them roam about unsupervised on the internet? f your child has a cell phone, it has internet. And if you have not had a looong talk with your child about near occasions of sin, the scam of pornography, how to avoid posting too much revealing information on social media…..then you need to shut up. Also, everything that happens in the world is your fault. Everything. If you haven’t cancelled Disney Plus, or Hulu, or Amazon, you are funding this trash and you get everything that is coming to you.

WCBOE should get rid of every single one of the idiots that are on the board! No wonder our kids are turning into such idiots…………………..they have idiots “teaching” them! Every board member and every teacher who is involved in this hideous scandal should not only be fired, but prosecuted for child abuse. They are destroying our country, one student at a time.
If I lived in Wicomico county and couldn’t afford to send my child to private school, then I would definitely move far away from this hell hole.

It’s nice that you will comment here but NEITHER one of you will be to the board of education meeting tonight (Tuesday) at 7 o’clock to state your concerns. Grow a backbone and stand up to this demonic insanity. Show up tonight and make it known you are tired of this crap. The board only has a few members that will even opose certain things. Gene Malone is NOT one of them. You have a group of librarians that are ordering the books. Your tax $$ is supporting it. Stop ignoring the problems. The school board a d most of the teachers don’t care about your kids. It’s about the money
Please name the one name that ultimately has authority to approve these purchases! Who is responsible for this? Who signs the purchase orders?

Does anyone know how recently this book was introduced into the school system? From the article it sounds like it just happened. Did any parents go through the policy for book removal? Perhaps the author can give us the name of the parents who filed the paper work to get this book removed. Did anyone even bother?
