Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden’s electric vehicle (EV) initiatives, vowing to put an end to what he calls the “madness” of pushing for electric vehicles.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, as reported by The Hill on Tuesday, September 5, Trump aimed to sway voters in Michigan, a crucial swing state, where the automotive industry holds significant importance.
Trump criticized both the electric vehicle industry and President Biden’s push for increased electric vehicle adoption.
He warned that if Biden’s vision of “all Electric Cars” were to come to fruition, it would spell the end of Michigan’s auto industry, claiming that China would take over.
Trump’s appeal to the United Auto Workers (UAW) urged them to endorse him, promising to protect existing jobs and create more opportunities while championing choice in schools and cars.
Michigan, in 2021, was home to over 175,000 auto manufacturing jobs, a significant figure that reflects the state’s deep connection to the auto industry.
