Judge Allows Class-Action Whopper Lawsuit to Proceed – Burger King Has Some Explaining to Do

Customers who bought a Whopper because of deceptive advertising are demanding that Burger King now put its money where their mouths are.

According to Reuters and Food and Wine Magazine, customers in a proposed class action lawsuit against the fast-food franchise have accused Burger King of false advertising, and it’s possible others may follow. The lawsuit claimed Burger King’s new ads show a deceptively large burger in which the meat “‘overflow[s] the bun,’ making it appear the burgers are 35 percent larger and contain more than double the meat than the chain serves.”

  1. Anyone who eats Burger King (or any other”fast food”) is an idiot and shouldn’t be allowed to complain about it. It’s all killing you. Actually, the fact that they may have given you less than you thought you should get is a good thing because you were eating less of the crap they serve.

  2. The Whopper is over 50 years old as a product (ask me how I know) and while they may have altered ingredients or amount of content across the years (lettuce, etc) somewhere there has been small print about pre-cooked weight of the meat patty.

This is a nuisance lawsuit to benefit some lawyer/s and a few plaintiffs by shaking the trees hoping settlement apples fall off. Hope BK mops the floor with them. Costs of defense will be shifted to regular customers.

You know what you’re buying there and have to make a judgement about whether it’s a good value purchase for you. If not suck it up and buy or go elsewhere. End of story.
