Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning vowed to hold a press conference on Monday, August 21, at which he says he’ll release an “irrefutable” and “conclusive” report that he believes will lead to his “complete exoneration” in the Georgia 2020 presidential election-tampering case.
As we reported late Monday night, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (Democrat) handed up a 41-count indictment against Trump, his former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and 16 other alleged co-conspirators.
The indictment centers on violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and also includes solicitation of violation of an oath by a public officer, conspiracy, and filing a false statement.
Trump was predictably livid, and on Tuesday morning, he posted a big claim on Truth Social:
A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey. Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others — There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!
OK — but a couple of questions immediately come to mind, which we’ll get to in a bit.
