When you look around the state of Maryland and compare the tax rates, Salisbury is out of their minds and quite frankly Salisbury residents/taxpayers are fools. We have enough corruption with politicians on the national and state level but when it comes to the Eastern Shore, Salisbury is a joke. Pride Week, Salisbury Folk Festival, the Zoo, Section 8 Housing, Tiny Homes for the homeless, Rainbow Crosswalks/flags, you fools are paying for all these losses/expenses.
On the other hand, take a look at Pittsville and some other local areas. How you are surviving is beyond me. Pittsville has their own water and sewer as well as their own police department. It’s also an area that is growing. If there was ever an area that needed to raise its taxes it would be a town like Pittsville. Not Salisbury.

The Civic Center looks like shit too. Trash in the parking lots. Grass not cut. Weeds in the sidewalks and the mulched beds look like shit. This place is constantly begging for more money for updates and they cannot even take care of what they have.
Time for this Republican council to grow a set and see there is a serious management issue there.

Pittsville has some decent people brainstorming and long range planning and applying for several grants to help. Singh doing the water plant has been the best since implemented 40 years ago. But you bet Mangini and Mchugh and crew are chomping at the bit to raise taxes. Harris is a asset to the town decent and level headed.
Thanks for wanting a tax increase in Pittsville. Maybe they will be able to pay for a code enforcer to clean up the many junkie shit hole yards with several junk sheds like 5 or 6 in some yards and scabbed together looking like a petting zoo! Along with the untagged vehicles and grass ass high!
Newsflash, the county has also done the same thing with the Horizons scam program (Thanks to John Cannon). The city is hellhole but part of the higher tax rate is that the county gets free services from us in many places through uncharged sewer and water and fire/ems services….if the mayor and the worthless women on the city council had guts they would simply cut off the county from all the mooching…..but they won’t.

False – if county residents get City water, they get a bill. I used to live on Gladstone Cr, I got a water bill.
False – The County gives money to the City for Fire Service agreement, this has been going on for years. The City wants more money becuase; (1) the GRANTS have gone away and (2) indigent City residents don’t/can’t pay, and they’re the ones driving up the costs. Moreso; if a county resident gets an ambulance ride from the City they get a bill.

Why is the citizens not upset and complaining about the pay raises that was passed for the CITY and COUNTY COUNCILS without them working to better the area and working the hours that goes along with the excessive pay raise they gave themselves. They have showed no progress on making this area better for all citizens instead of their pockets. They are raising all expenses they can get away with and screw the TAX PAYER. Just look at the way they have screwed over the TAX PAYER on all the FIRE EQUIPMENT they buy so they can dry dock a fire boat that has never been on a call , since they bought it. All the new FIRE TRUCKS so they can ride around Salisbury and sight see and claim it is training, which is a joke. They don’t even have a program for PHSYICAL FITNESS PROGRAM so they can do their job. ALL THESE CITY AND COUNTY CCOUNCILS WAT TO DO IS SCREW THE PUBLIC. I am tired of hearing about the bigger FIRE DEPTMENTS in MARYLAND have this or that. These other FIRE COMPANIES have VOLUNTEERS and also use them as FIRE POLICE / traffic control not lazy full time supposedly FIRE FIGHTERS. THEY don’t steal money / property / equipment from their VOLUNTEERS like SALISBURY did . ANYONE that disagrees with these statements show me the last FORENSIC AUDIT done by an independent agency. This also goes for the CITY also SALISBURY / WICOMICO COUNTY and SPD. Show the bidding sheets of property within the CITY and which CONTRACTORS got the preferential treatment.

Heath is just as bad as Jake at the AARP monthly meeting 5/4/23 he is set to follow in Jake’s footsteps and is going to do nothing about the mess Jake was as our worst mayor ever. The roundabouts need to go, the white sticks in the traffic lanes need to go, the concrete pads meant to be for planters or just to slow traffic don’t work they just cause bottled up lanes like around the college and down to Riverside Drive. The roads need to have more than 1 lane. We don’t need the bike paths I have never seen a college student or anyone else ever use. them and I go that way all the time. We definately never need another City Festival for just drunks and immigrant music this is not Mexico but it is getting more of an immigrant monopoly the houses in the city have become over housed, I guess there’s no more census. Cars are parked in front of houses like parking lots little front yards anymore. My neighbors are all from San Salvador, Equador, Columbia, and so on none speak English they throw trash all over the front yards plastic bags and starafoam containers everywhere, not to mention wine bottles, plastic bottles, broken furniture, and anything they can throw. They never use trash bags for the city trash cans which the rest of us have to use or no trash pick up. Porches full of old mattresses, and any discarded items they don’t get rid of. The houses have notices posted by the city but ignored they cut a path through grass but leave the back yards 3 or more feet high. We need more and better city inspectors that don’t fly by but really write up the trashy houses, porches in the Salvation Army area are literally falling off their foundations, litter of old abandoned vehicles, trailers,. I could not always afford to live in the best house or neighborhood, but my home and property , whether owned or rented, was always well maintained.
One fact I noticed, was the saturation of mexican stores and restaurants, all of which look like a shit hole. Signs plastered all over the windows, making the places look trashy. One by one, more and more popping up.
