Congratulations to Coastal Smokehouse in achieving a sale to Ropewalk, (aka Alley Oop). Sunday is their final day. Ropewalk expects to reopen three weeks after taking custody of the property. Many have said this property and the old Mulligans property are cursed as many bar/restaurants have come and gone without success.
Do you think Ropewalk will succeed?

May do ok to start with the Ropewalk name, but think location to far outside OC to succeed. Time will tell.
Coastal had a shot before the death of Gavin Knupp. Matt Ortt played that badly and Coastal couldn’t recover. I think the Alley Oops team will have a better chance, but that’s just a guess. Looks like a prime location but so many have failed there over the years.

Ropewalk food all seems overly salty the 2 times we’ve eaten there. Didn’t want to go back honestly.
