‘Hi, goodnight everyone’: Confused John Fetterman implodes in debate with Dr. Oz as even CNN and liberal commentators admit ‘painful spectacle’ shows he has not recovered from stroke

John Fetterman’s debate performance on Tuesday night was greeted with dismay by many of his sympathizers – with a CNN panel widely panning the Democrat hopeful.

Separately, Chris Cuomo said he ‘struggled’ and Barack Obama’s former senior adviser saying Fetterman ‘did not help’ his cause.

‘Hi, goodnight everyone,’ Democratic populist Fetterman opened the night’s highly anticipated match-up.

Fetterman, 53, is suffering some lingering speech and auditory impediments from a stroke he suffered in May.

In advance of the debate – the only one for the Pennsylvania Senate race – Fetterman’s campaign had tempered expectations, saying there would be ‘awkward pauses’ and ‘delays and errors,’ because the Democrat would be reading closed captioning due to his auditory processing issue.

He’s being challenged by TV doctor Mehmet Oz, hoping to claim outgoing GOP Senator Pat Toomey’s seat for the Republicans on November 8.

Fetterman at times struggled to get through his hour-long debate with Oz, with his delivery often halting and choppy.

His celebrity rival, meanwhile, turned on the charm he had honed over 13 seasons of his show, and attacked Fetterman for being ‘extreme.’ The pauses and stumbles happened throughout the debate.

At one point Fetterman was asked to clarify his position on fracking, as moderators pointed to a 2018 interview where the lieutenant governor expressed broad opposition to the practice, but not a ban.

‘I do support fracking – I don’t, I don’t – I support fracking, and I do support fracking,’ he answered.

  1. This shows you the judgement of how George Soros and Hussain OBAMA is destroying the US. Hussain Obama and Soros put in charge of the US people of mental disabilities. Obama’s third term is failing but is giving CHINA and the SOCIALIST control of the US in and accelerated mode before they lose control.

  2. I saw a few places on Facebook were covering this live so I figured I would watch it later. USUALLY after they have a live feed they will leave the video up so you can watch it later. I tried to find it later on those Facebook pages and all I could find were 20 or 30 second videos and the news telling you what they wanted you to hear. That is usually the case when the dem does so horrible in a debate that they don’t want you to see it.

  3. Its sad when a debilitating health issue causing anyone the ability communicate normally. When attempting to talk normally yet there is a pause with every word, others think there is something wrong with tbem…or think that lack the necessary “smarts” to hold a discussion.

Should a person hold an elected office because of what others think rather than knowing….very hard. This unfortunately isa Dem or Rep issue to people and since the Dem had a stroke, trying to recover, folks do not think he is fit.

The issue is bigger because everyday strokes happen and so many people and families are effected. I am a stroke survivor with a lag when i communicate verbally. It was frustrating at 1st because people tried to finish my sentences or looked uncomfortable while listening. Over time anxieties lessened…but it is still relevant today. At 40 i was young, healthy, married, active with 2 teens yet had a stroke. I felt loopy after work and my speech slurred. Thankfully we went to the emergency room and the Dr’s did what was needed. A week later home to rest and rehab for speech. 30 yrs later fine…young (ha) with a smaller delay in communicating. Its ok, point is we dont know what we dont know about folks.

Politicially and if I was in PA right now….liking the color red, .i dont know if i want Doc Oz the tv guy representing my needs.

    Happy thursday
