Recreational Fishing and Boating Survey

Under a Cares Act II grant, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has designed an online survey to reach anglers and fish enthusiasts in Maryland.

Please take the survey and share the link with others who may have valuable input to add to our research.

More about this survey:

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources was granted money under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CARES II) to implement projects that will help Maryland’s vital fishing industry recover from COVID impacts and become more resilient in the future.

Under this grant, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore is researching attitudes and perceptions of experienced and new anglers. This information will be used to study potential initiatives that support the for-hire and headboat fleets in Maryland and improve digital media support for this iconic Maryland industry.

  1. I was in the process of taking the survey when the question appeared requesting annual income. What does that have to do with recreational fishing or boating? It doesn’t and that’s none of their business, so I didn’t complete the survey. Nice try though.

    1. Income and education levels are standard survey questions used to gauge mobility and opportunity in any number of settings, recreation included.

  2. easy peasy, everything is either other or o-1 lease fav! Like the part at the end where you can write in what you actually think about the nazi’s working for dnr!
