White House Plays Dumb on Estimated $500 Billion Cost of Canceling Student Debt

White House aides repeatedly refuse to address the cost of President Joe Biden’s decision on Wednesday to cancel up to $20,000 in student debt.

“I can’t give you that off the top of my head,” White House director of domestic policy Susan Rice said Wednesday during the daily briefing when asked whether the administration had estimated the cost of the president’s decision.

She repeated the cost of the program would not be fully known until the federal government knew how many people would take advantage of it.

The president spent several months stalling a decision on canceling student debt, telling reporters he was waiting for further analysis about the impacts of the decision.

But after the decision was announced, his aides pretended they had no estimate of how much it would cost the American people.

  1. Don’t care about their cancelling student debt only child I had attended school here and then went to work. Not my problem and not paying for someone else’s child. It is just another way of trying to take interest away in Jan 6th mess, impeachment and now raid on Trump home. The American people want the border closed , no more vaccines and booster and no more Fauci. Want fracking returned and for get the Electric vehicles not getting one, jobs is what we want, and schools not dictated what will be done the parents have the say. What sex our children want to be is only up to them and the parents no one else–get on with the education as it has always been. Get prices back to where they were and no food shortages, or formula shortages, it is all a game to take away from Voting for Trump and that will never happen . The Dems don’t have a viable candidate and they know it. Your going to loose in 2024 accept it and move on.

    1. That fence is not an issue. The Bidens took out a federal student loan to build build the fence so will be getting some “relief” later.
