Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson died from a fatal mix of fentanyl and cocaine before he his body was discovered last week, according to a city medical examiner.
As a spokesperson for Baltimore’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told DailyMail.com on Friday, the 26-year-old’s death has been ruled an accident. No written autopsy is available yet, but the agency hopes to have one mostly complete in the next few months.
Ferguson’s body was discovered on June 21. There were no signs of trauma or foul play, and investigators left open the possibility of a drug overdose, which was confirmed on Friday.
‘Our priority is focused on the man Jaylon was and the positive impact he made on so many as a father, son, fiancé, friend and teammate,’ read a team statement. ‘It would be inappropriate for us to comment further while we continue to support his family and teammates, who are mourning the tragic loss of a loved one and will celebrate his life tomorrow.’
Sorry that is NOT accidental. We as a country need to stop thinking this is an accident, this is a choice. We need to stop thinking that drug use is a sickness, its a choice, like smoking, drinking, and gambling which the state pushes. They are all choices.
It is sad, that a million-dollar player with SO much potential turned to drugs – now why would that be? Maybe schools and colleges should teach better morals and look after the students.
A liberal mind is a terrible thing.
choice – absolutely. Yet addiction is a sickness and no school or college should be required to do more. Thats a family responsibility.
Addiction is a choice, people choose to be addicted.
ok ok point taken.
For dedicated, addicted and casual illegal drug users the message continues to be: Make sure your affairs are in order and you’ve said your Goodbyes to family & friends before you smoke, inject or ingest your known or unknown substance. Bon voyage!
This guy was a young millionaire with a productive future. Had obviously been through anti-drug messaging as a kid, in HS and college, and with the NFL. But he knew better. Maybe his replacement is wiser.
No accident there. He took the crap for a purpose.
With Biden’s open borders the drugs, especially fentanyl keep pouring into our country and there is just a never ending supply of it. Obiden is doing nothing about it!
