(BISHOPVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police is investigating a three vehicle motor vehicle collision occurring this morning in Worcester County, Maryland. Two adults and a small child were injured. Northbound & Southbound traffic were affected by lane shut down and access to and from Bishopville Road was stopped for approximately three and one half hours.
The drivers and occupants were identified as:
Vehicle One:
Jorge Veliz Ich 33 YOA of Guatemala was the driver a 2014 Toyota Tundra was evaluated at the scene and released
Vehicle Two:
Ebony Morris, 41 YOA of Millsboro, De was the driver of a 2008 Honda Accord, and was flown to Tidal Health in Salisbury for treatment
Arianna Morris, 20 YOA, of Berlin, was a passenger in the Honda Accord and was transported to Tidal Health for treatment
Five month old infant Morris, was a passenger in the Honda Accord and was transported first to Tidal Health then flown to John Hopkins for treatment
Vehicle Three:
Roger Reed, 56 YOA, of Bishopville, MD, was the driver of a 2001 Ford F150 and was evaluated and released at the scene
At 6:44 this morning, troopers from the Berlin Barrack were dispatched to a reported traffic collision at US 113 and Bishopville Road, Bishopville, Worcester County, MD. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a collision involving two pickup trucks and a Honda Accord. The occupants of the Honda were injured in the crash and were transported for treatment.
Responding members from the Bishopville Fire Department, Showell Fire, Ocean Pines Fire, Sussex Fire and MSP aviation responded and transported injured patients to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional for treatment. Maryland SHA responded and assisted with lane closures.
Preliminary investigation indicates Veliz Ich was driving southbound on US 113 and attempted to turn onto Bishopville Road with his Toyota Tundra and collided with the Honda Accord. The Tundra then continued into the F150.
Maryland State Police from the Berlin Barrack responded to the crash assisted by deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, MSP Crash Team, CVED and MSP PACE Team responded to assist with the investigation.
The cause and contributing factors involved in this crash remain under investigation.
