“Program” is the key word! More rental apartments being built in Salisbury! More congested streets all over the city and county! Do the citizens of Salisbury or Wicomico County even know this? Most people who live here definitely do not want this! This is NOT “Smart Growth” and it will cost the taxpayers millions more in services! This is nothing to brag about and nothing to be proud of! To some of you, (Liberals) all of this may sound great. To REALISTS it’s a load of crap and puts way too much pressure on Salisbury’s already failing infrastructure. That’s right, failing. Besides, this is no different then the BS that came out of former mayor Jim Ireton, “You can swim in this river within 10 years”. Jake Day knows this goal is impossible but it sounds good. Finally, the so called student housing is way down. I stated it over a decade ago, kids will be using ON LINE college and SU will fail to attract on campus learning. It was your election to lose people.
Have you driven down College Avenue between Riverside Drive and Camden Avenue lately. Concrete islands have been placed in the roadway. There has already been one accident .One concrete island is at Evergreen and the other at Russell. I also heard that the housing on East main Street is no longer for college students but will be section 8 and the project has been sold to foreign investors. Has anyone else heard this?
Most Seniors over 65 are being pushed out of our rental over 55 housings. Greed is the route of all EVIL in this world. They see that if they push out lower income seniors and get allow seniors that have higher monthly income, they will make more. They don’t care that we have no where to go or must move to areas that we might not feel safe. Some of the apartments have steps that we can not climb or be able to bring up the groceries. We need housing based on our income, because we don’t have the same health we had in our early years and can’t go out and work like we did then. We are just trying to take care of ourselves and survive.
ON the Concrete Islands……well let me say this………..what a mess. All these bike lanes are not needed. I’ve lived in Salisbury 75 years and I drive around the Collage everyday and very seldom ever see anyone using them. The concrete looks a mess because people can’t see them and they are all beat up because run into or over them, causing damage to cars. Some of the City Planners must be asleep when they pass some of the mess they are doing in Salisbury right now.

She states her full time job is taking care of her disabled son and if that is true, how does she meet her living expenses when she doesn’t have a paying job.
Has she ever had a job outside of the home?
If her son needs full time care, how is she going to find time to fulfill the responsibility of the elected position?
She also mentioned she will be taking all per diem and stipends available, since it is more expensive living “over there”.
Seems like all that time running for every local elected position available had nothing to do with the community, and everything to do with other ambitions.
Just what the city needs more immigrant citizens who don’t bag their trash and it flies in the wind all over the streets and trees. More discarded furniture in the yards, porches and everywhere. So many cars per house parked on the city streets. Multiple mail boxes, electrical boxes, multiple tv dishes on all the roofs. Trash piled up everywhere and great for his stupid city festival visitors they will think they are in the NY slums. It’s like endless caravans of people none speak english, no visas no id’s but I’ll bet they all get voter forms in time for November elections. Slum lords around town get paid from the government to house illegals. So these big shot contractors build the complexes and the government buys them up. So instead working class people or seniors they put these illegals in them no wonder no one can find rentals.
