The news media and President Joe Biden last year successfully convinced a bunch of credulous corporations that rules requiring voters to present identification were basically Jim Crow-style disenfranchisement. That’s why Major League Baseball moved the All-Star Game out of Atlanta, and all sorts of pandering corporate executives tut-tutted the state Legislature or even pulled business out of Georgia.
Biden and congressional Democrats went further and pushed pointless and probably harmful bills nationalizing much of the administration of elections, pointing to a supposed rash of GOP-led states disenfranchising voters.
The left-leaning press uncritically called these bills “voting rights bills,” and corporate America endorsed these bills.
It just goes to show you that if Democrats make something about race, they can get the media to go along with any silliness and that corporate America will follow.
