With just 6 months between the retirement of Superintendent Donna Hanlin and the new board members being sworn in, who do you feel should pick the next Superintendent of Wicomico County Public Schools? This question is required.

I’d say defund them and decouple the unions grasp in the BOE corruption. Issue school vouchers dissolve the current wasteful tax sucking pit of a failed education system!!
This vote does matter. The current School board is going to appoint someone from inside. Best guess would be Briggs as interim.
If they really wanted someone from outside they would have posted for applicants already. You
No more Wokes please, elect real people who want to make a difference, and really want to work and do a good job, someone with real ethics, real goals and the ability to work with people.
The retiring superintendent gave plenty of notice and the process has swung into gear. Almost all superintendent searches in the state are farmed out in part or in whole to the state school board association on the premise that they know best what background and aptitudes make for a good super, and they can sift through the applicants and winnow the field. So they have an active hand in searches which bring forth both stars and duds.
The responsibility for selecting the next superintendent is clearly the job of the current Board members. They must offer a 4 year contract and have their choice in place on July 1st. Past boards have been forced to go with various placeholder arrangements when they missed those deadlines, with very mixed results.
Let’s hope they get the job done timely, and make an excellent choice for the benefit of all stakeholders.

So where are all these vouchers going to be used. I don’t see a lot of schools to choose from

This should be decided by WE the People, not tyrants, communist and racist. I’m sick and tired of seeing the corruption with zero accountability.
We the tax payers should be the ones selecting the Superintendent.
