This “Rip-off” is pervasive throughout the Federal Government and all individual agencies.
There are so many Assistants and Deputies that perform no true useful function – they were promoted due to long tenure and no place else to put them to thank them for service and loyalty.
There are so many unqualified individuals at higher technical levels – you can sense their lack of qualification about three minutes into a technical conversation with them – unless they start axing questions first… Yes, I have seen all races and genders – that is pervasive as well!
We could cut the Agency staffing by 30% and improve effectiveness while reducing the budget. Unfortunately, the people let go are for the most part unemployable elsewhere and they will end up on unemployment or reduced to menial labor.
