Demands for restrictions surge after another school shooting
Another school shooting in America has triggered a new round of demands for gun storage laws.
But an expert is warning those requirements could cause more harm and good.
John R. Lott Jr., an economist and political commentator, has explained at Real Clear Politics that the recent shooting at Oxford High in Michigan is the kind of tragedy everyone wants to prevent.
“But more lives will be lost than saved if we mandate that everyone lock up their guns,” he wrote.
He cited comments from Karen McDonald, the Oakland County prosecutor.
“We [Michigan] don’t have a safe storage law. We’re not legally required to store your weapon in a safe manner. Children are allowed to attend [gun ranges] with their parents. … We don’t have strong enough laws,” she said.
All us kids had our shotguns stored in our closets and were hunting with them at age 12 or so. Those guns never killed anyone, and during hunting season were in our unlocked vehicles in the school parking lot to save time after school to get to our hunting land. They never killed anyone then either. It’s just how it was done.
We also didn’t have video games, where shooting and killing other humans is FUN.
Neither did we have a huge music genre of songs about shooting the police, beating up bitc***, and glorifying prison and thug life.
As far as “storage”??
LOL.
Guns are not coins or stamps or collectible sports cards.
They are lifesaving devices and personal protection devices.
By definition, such things need to be accessed RIGHT AWAY.
Keep all guns loaded (if not, they aren’t guns, they are clubs with a bad handle).
Keep them in easy reach (so when you look out the window and see some gang all dressed up in black and packing heavy heat, coming your way, you don’t have to fumble for a key or try to remember the combination – all you have to remember is whether or not you have a 20, or a 30 round clip and do you have Kevlar penetrating rounds).
Know how to use them and hit what you shoot at…..
Lastly, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT —-
Don’t register a damn thing, don’t ask some stranger if it’s okay with them for ANYTHING, don’t pay another armed man for permission to do anything, don’t sit down for questions about how you live your life, and don’t think that these same people will be there to save you from ANYTHING.
They show up to write “reports” and cover your body with a blanket and hold a press conference to tell the rest of the serfs how badly they feel that you are dead.
EVERY DAY, it becomes clearer to anyone paying attention that your life is cheaper than dirt to them. They will WILLINGLY accept your death as a “sacrifice” to achieve what they want.
