A boat captain who won a festive lights display after decorating his boat with illuminations saying ‘FJB, Let’s go Brandon’ was stripped of his gong after the message was deemed overtly political.
Captain Bill Berger’s boat, called ‘Southern Rock,’ decked out with fir trees and reindeer and lit up with the phrase ‘Let’s go Brandon’ and the letters ‘FJB’ in Christmas lights, was voted best in show by the crowd at the Yorktown.
Both phrases are thinly-veiled replacements recently coined by Conservative groups in place of saying ‘F*** Joe Biden.’

They should not have been stripped of the win if another boat had something about Trump they would not have been penalized. And it clearly won the decorations so should have stayed the winners, the organizers are playing the political game if if it had said make America Great again that would have been ok I’m sure.
The win should have stayed it was for decorations not politics and the boat clearly stood out in the decoration theme. The judges and real politicians were the ones that caved into politics.
So someones feelings got hurt again.
Bunch of pansies.
Did the written rules going into the competition say that political statements were disqualifying? Or did the judges make said rule up after the competition ended? Either way, the judges screwed up.
Last week, the University of Pittsburgh QB was running down the field with defenders closing in on him. He faked sliding down so not to be hit, the defenders bit at his fake and he scored a TD. This week the NCAA banned all faking sliding down (once a college player hits the ground he is down).
Point being, if you are in charge you can change the rules anytime you want.
The organizers were wrong, but large and in charge.
