According to reports , Rep. Liz Cheney’s husband’s law firm has a number of Chinese Communist Party-linked clients, including companies affiliated to the regime’s military, and employs former party members to support its enormous China practice.
Phillip Perry is a partner at Latham & Watkins and is the husband of House Republican Conference Chair Cheney, who is expected to be ousted by Republicans due to her absurd comments regarding her own party and former President Donald Trump.
Rep. Cheney’s husband’s law firm, which has offices in Shanghai and Beijing, has worked with various companies that have been characterized as “tools” of the CCP by both collaborators of the People’s Liberation Army and the U.S. State Department.
Perry, who worked in the George W. Bush administration before joining Latham & Watkins, has supported the “revolving door” between government officials and lobbying and law firms in past statements.
“The term ‘revolving door’ implies people going in and out of government in order to obtain monetary gain. The reason people go into government is to serve their country. It’s not appropriate to describe that as a ‘revolving door.’”
