UPS to hire 100,000 seasonal workers, with some applicants getting job in 30 minutes

From express delivery to express hiring.

UPS announced Thursday that it plans to hire more than 100,000 temporary workers for the upcoming holiday season, saying many of those will get a job offer within 30 minutes of applying.

The package delivery company wants to boost its workforce for the months of October through January, which UPS expects to be another “record peak holiday season.”

“We plan to hire more than 100,000 people for seasonal jobs, many of whom will have an offer in hand within 30 minutes of applying. Our seasonal hires will help us provide the most reliable service in the industry, just like we did last year,” Nando Cesarone, president of the company’s U.S. operations, said in a statement.

  1. Their working conditions border on slavery.
Their wages are as low as they can get away with without facing prosecution.
They deliberately understaff their location so the mid-managers can get bonuses on labor costs.
if you want to be disrespected, abused, and overworked until you quit, go ahead and apply.
