Three shot at Baltimore area’s Towson University in ‘egregious act of violence’

Three people were shot at Towson University, including one student, early Saturday morning in an “egregious act of violence,” the school’s president announced.

The trio was shot on Saturday at about 2 a.m. in Freedom Square, a campus area near academic buildings at the college, during an unsanctioned gathering, according to Towson University President Kim Schatzel.

“Early Saturday morning, just hours after many students and faculty finished their first week of in-person learning for the fall semester, our campus and community experienced an egregious act of violence,” she said in a message to Towson faculty and students.

None of the injuries from the overnight gunfire were life-threatening, and the student, an unidentified woman, was in “good spirits” when university leadership visited her in an area hospital, Schatzel said.

“I visited with her and her family, along with Vice President Vernon Hurte, at the hospital early Saturday morning to offer our support and we are staying in close contact with them. Her condition is stable and she was in good spirits,” Schatzel said in the memo. “The best news of all is that she is looking forward to a full recovery very soon.”

  1. More to follow at colleges and grade schools across the country. Why? Assimilation back into society after a lengthy time being at home. All went back pretty much cold turkey without true social restrictions. Yeah, many colleges/uni’s have “mandated” vaccinations, but socially you have a group ready to “socialize” and a group that is still skittish. Not the greatest combo not to mention most colleges/uni’s are in small town who’s locals are in the same societal boat so to speak. Clashes will happen.

Grade schools, give it another month for elementary and middle ants in their pants stresses out the teachers. High Schools – hell there’s already numerous incidents at football games and they have only been in for 2 weeks.

Right now there is a major shortage for busing, my guess the next shortage will be stressed out teachers.

Not gonna be fun to watch or listen.
