Extra unemployment benefits to end for 7.5M workers in September

White House has not decided whether to support unemployment benefit extension

Millions of Americans are poised to lose their unemployment benefits in one month’s time, as the massive safety net that Congress put in place in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic begins to unravel.

A new report published by the left-leaning Century Foundation found that 7.5 million workers face the loss of jobless aid on Sept. 6 – Labor Day, the official cut-off date for three relief programs that were first created in March 2020 and renewed twice by Congress as the virus forced an unprecedented shutdown of the nation’s economy, pushing unemployment to the highest level since the Great Depression.

  1. This time make it so states can’t Steal it Back from the people, and END it before the end date set by Congress !!!!

  2. 11:20 I agree but the Government shout increase it by a minimum of 3 times the current amount we recieve since we have to still pay taxes.

No MORE GOVERNMENT GIVEAWAYS unless these lazy moochers of government giveaways have at least 3 jobs. That means they are trying and honestly needs government help. Also there needs to be strict accountability for government money. Must pay their rent, no lobster and expensive groceries and no new cars and 4 wheel drive vehicles for a start.

  3. The Lazy ones are the baby Ho’s getting that money for Nothing @ $300 per kid with No ending date !!!!

The kids won’t see ANY of it !!!!

  4. Never Happen ..wait and see …they will give another extension !! ..like History shows Has Happened Sooo Many Time Before !!!
