Mosby touts convictions for 3 repeat violent offenders; victims’ families want more

In Maryland, some of the same people continuously get arrested and released for crimes – and some families are calling on the top prosecutor in the state’s largest city to change.

City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced on July 27 that three men had been convicted on various charges, including gun and drug-related charges. Raymond Hamilton was convicted of illegal gun possession and trafficking, drug possession and possession with intent to distribute. He had been sentenced to 15 years, with all but five suspended.

Hamilton was found with a gun and 10 live rounds of ammunition, suspected fentanyl and heroine at the time of his arrest. Hamilton was one of three repeat violent offenders Mosby touted during her news conference.

“All too often we hear about the problem of repeat offenders on our streets without following up on the outcome after they are arrested and prosecuted,” said Marilyn Mosby. “These convictions are a testament to the talents of my prosecutors and our commitment to pursing justice.”

  1. They need to take all of the felons and charge them with Federal stuff. The Felon in possession of a gun will get them 10 years in Federal Prison. Habitual offender Life in Prison.
But can’t do this is would really put a dent in crime and Democrats don’t want that!
