“Your Safety Is In Jeopardy!” – Baltimore City Hit With Cop And Firefighter Shortage

Baltimore City continues to descend into chaos this summer as labor shortages plague the police department and firehouses.

Residents could be at risk of police not responding to 911 calls or firefighters not arriving to a fire or other emergency. Under new management, newly elected Mayor Brandon Scott fails to keep public emergency services stocked with first responders.

According to Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police’s (FOP) Twitter, the city is experiencing a cop shortage as patrols plunge. The police department is more than 500 cops short (something we outlined not too long ago).

  1. Everywhere has a shortage of LEOs and first responders. Been that way for years and locales still don’t prioritize expenditures.

Years of beautification projects, wants rather than needs, politico pet projects for votes, etc are really showing the ugliness with lack of services today.

We roared into the 20’s and now mirroring what happened in the late 1920’s….

    1. Not sure what this has to do with police or firefighters, they don’t work from home.
And working from home is not the problem either.
The government giving people more money than they make NOT to work is the issue.

  2. The first duty of every sized governmental unit is providing for public safety. When that falls out residents will provide for themselves, family, friends and neighbors; it won’t be pretty.

We have plenty of laws. We need elected leaders, prosecuters, and judges determined to protect the public from society’s predators by arresting, successfully prosecuting, and removing via prison, the bad guys. Current procedures are not a disincentive to bad guys; the pendulum must swing in favor of regular folks and against the crooks, perps, etc. The perps have the right not to break the law!

  3. I remember the day it was a honor to serve on the Baltimore PD. This area even has requested help from them on some cases. The investigative division was cream of the crop. Those guys are gone now not only from there but this earth.
