After the driver pulled off it would be appropriate to go back and cuff and stuff the turd in his wife’s presence. If she can drive okay, if not make sure she can get transportation or provide it for her. The low level politician would then be maimed and humiliated while being put in the system. Chances are it wouldn’t be the first time. He’s likely illegal and has a criminal record, qualifying him to be in his small time position.

Back to the event: Cops making a solo traffic stop is always a potential danger spot. False tags are a blinking red light to the cop that the driver has taken an action to appear legal, when in fact they are not. Approach with heightened caution! So when a meddler causes a distraction which might give a driver a window to assault the cop or speed away it is a very serious concern, in addition to impeding traffic where oncoming traffic might hit the cop while trying to avoid hitting the meddler’s car.
