‘This Is Xi-N-N’: CNN Mocked for Glowing Coverage of Chinese Communist Party’s 100th Anniversary

For those who’ve read my past articles on CNN, you know I’m fond of mocking the left-wing “news” outlet with its own self-declared motto — The Most Trusted Name in News™ — and that I mockingly include the trademark. Just to twist the knife.

If there has ever been a more discredited major “news” organization on the planet — from Jeff Zucker to Fredo Cuomo, Don Lemon, Brian Stelter, creepy Jeffrey Toobin, and beyond, I am unaware of who it was or when it happened. In other words, this clown car stands alone in the annals of (pretend) journalism.

In mid-June, as reported by Fox News at the time, China was accused — and accusation it more than deserved — of “running Chinese propaganda after boosting the country’s COVID vaccination rates” — provided by the Communist government’s National Health Mission, of course. Said one critic of CNN’s efforts: “China News Network is pumping out Chinese propaganda for the CCP.”

Now, as the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party approaches, as reported by Fox News on Wednesday, CNN is being blasted over its latest China swoon — gushing over the CCP’s anniversary and dictator Xi Jinping.

The Chinese Communist Party is about to turn 100 but Xi will be the real star.”

“Star”? At what? For doing what?

“It’s likely that large parts of the day’s events will focus on Xi, arguably the country’s most powerful leader since Mao, and his vision for the country,” CNN’s Ben Westcott wrote in the glowing article.

  1. 100 years, with an estimated 148,000,000 Chinese citizens murdered by their own government in the 20th and 21st centuries comes out to an average of 1,480,000 per year. This may not include hundreds of thousands of government required abortions per year to maintain population size.
    Very progressive, don’t you think?
