The fade in college enrollment

A college degree is becoming more important as the demand for higher skills sharpens. The drop in college enrollment — which is especially steep for Black and Latino students — is bad news for both the higher education industry and broader social mobility.

Undergraduate college enrollment overall fell by nearly 5% in the spring of 2021 compared to the year before, according to data recently published by the National Student Clearinghouse.

Two-year community colleges, which typically enroll more low-income students and students of color, were by far the hardest hit, making up more than 65% of the total enrollment losses this spring. (For-profit private universities had a much steeper drop, but enroll far fewer students overall.)

  1. We need trade schools built. You can still make good money without a college education. A demand for plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc. Someone needs to build only technical schools that requires hands on experience.

  2. All these kids think they are Brands and Influencers they think they can Twitter,Tik-Tok,Facebook and Instagram their way to fame and Fortune with hits, likes and followers. They may even think they could be President. Similar things have happened.

  3. Congress should regulate tuition costs. That’s what the problem is and where Americans can’t afford college any longer.

Hopefully we will get a Conservative Congress in 2022 and they will also find a way to get more conservative educators in colleges and high schools. Make it illegal for Democrats to indocrtrinate a kids with lies and hated.
