U.S. job openings rose in April to a fresh record high, along with the number of people who voluntarily left their jobs, underscoring fervent labor demand and turnover as businesses emerge from pandemic-related restrictions and the economy strengthens.
The number of available positions climbed to 9.3 million during the month, the highest on data back to 2000, from an upwardly revised 8.3 million in March, the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, showed Tuesday. The increase in vacancies was broad.
The number of people who voluntarily left their jobs increased to 4 million in April, while the quits rate rose to a series-high of 2.7%. The figure suggests workers are growing more confident in their ability to find other employment.

Stats show increases everywhere, whereas the last 4 years stats showed numbers decreasing.

The data is culled off of “surveys” sent to employers, who can put down anything they want true or not.
Whats interesting is – oh gee – been here before in 2000, no biggie, so why is the sky falling this time around?
Because places like OC can’t exploit J1’s this year and may have to actually pay locals a reasonable wage? Or should we also be discussing how ridiculous rents have gotten.
Isn’t it a huge coincidence that we have an open border, and all the illegals will fill these spots for low wages. Another huge coincidence is the chamber of commerce promoting, I mean demanding that the US trade jobs for citizenship?

They know they make more from the DEMOCRATS giving away money to them is more than they earn working. If they don’t accept a job even one that pays less then refuse them unemployment and this free money from the DEMOCRATS. They are living high on the hog with this money and living free since the FEDS will not allow them to get evicted while they eat lobster and doing things they were not able to do when they worked. I want to see how many get evicted when they have to pay back the missed rent / mortgage.
They can work 3 jobs like I do to support my family, housing and other living expenses. I am retired doing this.
