Ocean City orders move of Ferris wheel for zoning violation

The company that owns a historic amusement park on the Ocean City, Maryland, boardwalk will be penalized for violating a zoning code if it doesn’t move its Ferris wheel.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Trimper’s Rides received its first fine over the weekend for violating the town’s right of way on the boardwalk. The company says moving the Ferris wheel and accompanying rides could cost more than $100,000.

Company President Antoinette Bruno told the town council that the placement was the result of human error.

Ocean City officials say they support the Ferris wheel but told Trimper’s at a council meeting Monday night that it can’t stay where it is.

    1. Liability issue, saving face issue, fingerpointing issue, its nixed.

Trimpers, Jenkins, Meehan and Co. Funny how a retiree (DD) got this into news. Actually truly sad because it again shines a dim light on OC

  1. So the city inspectors did not say anything when it was installed? FYI. i have not been to OC since the NAZI banned outdoor smoking. Let it rot for all i care..

  2. Get Clearance for a Strip Club !!!! Work on something Constructive !!!! Allow table dancing at Secrets !!!!!!

They have it in New Jersey !!!!!

    1. Although close – we are better than Jersey! Hell, get some of the Jersey transplants to run for City Hall and anything is doable.

Leave it the same – lather rinse repeat through the roaring 20’s!

  3. Ocean city is run by fools , they are more worried about Ferris wheel placement than the murderers thief’s and rapists that take over the streets every summer… I’ll never spend another dime in the OC crap hole

  4. The installation had to have gone through the process
of application, including drawings based on city property
lines, at least one city-approved professional survey,
meetings of city boards, and a multitude of city
    inspections.
It may be the case that the city is liable for a series of
legal and administrative mistakes that directly led to
    improper placements.
A few Baltimore lawyers should be able to straighten
this out and make a ton of money for their client and
    themselves.

  5. Put the Wheel in place of the Bus Control center on the boardwalk & Remove that , Not needed Pain in ass !!!!!
