Baltimore County plans to spend up to $100,000 on a memorial for COVID-19 victims.
Today the county, along with Baltimore County Arts Guild, announced an open call for artists to build a “highly creative and dynamic public arts concept” at Lake Roland Park in Mt. Washington, according to a press release.
More than 1,500 Baltimore County residents have died from COVID, and more than 8,800 Marylanders have died.
The memorial will honor “the memory of those lost,” as well as “provide a meditative space for reconciliation and remembrance.”
Three semi-finalist artists will get $2,000 stipends to help further develop their proposals, according to the release. The county is offering up to $100,000 to design and install the artwork.
Stop waisting Taxpayer $$$ give it to the Homeless & Animal Shelters !!!!!
The Democrats have spent four years tearing down memorials of past history to now wanting to waste taxpayer dollars to build a memorial that caused all the deaths from their hate pushing virus that they themselves let loose on the U.S. with China.
Who cares about this fake pandemic! Those Libtards just want to be a part of history!
Politicians seem to have no end to come up with ways to waste taxpayers hard earned money.
It’s always easy to spend other people’s money.
Has anyone read the COVID stim paperwork? I’m sure one could “find” some money linking to an initiative like this!
Don’t waste additional taxpayer dollars – we don’t have anymore to give! No REALLY, we are tapped dry!
$100K for a memorial? How about ask BIG business to pony up. Other more important initiatives NEED $$$$$$$.
Idiots!
A memorial of lies and deception how fitting for today
Where are these SNOWFLAKS / Democrats getting the money since Baltimore claims they are broke, in the red.
