City Hall is filled with leaders who have been elected to serve and lead the people of Baltimore and yet most leaders remain silent when asked about some of the big issues facing the city.
FOX45 News has demanded answers from city leaders for months; about apparent issues inside City Schools, to the growing homicide rate, to how Baltimore City has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.
City Council members got emails from FOX45 News demanding answers to questions about the apparent failures inside Augusta Fells Savage Institute, a West Baltimore high school, back in March when FOX45 News’ Project Baltimore first broke the story. Since then, few answers about the issues brought to light and despite questions sent to the members of the Education, Workforce and Youth Committee for months, the leaders remain silent.
The silence goes beyond school issues. Mayor Brandon Scott ended a news conference when asked about the status of the City’s mask requirement before the CDC first updated outdoor masking recommendations for vaccinated individuals.
City Council President Nick Mosby dodged questions about his questionable tax history when asked by FOX45 News.
Most recently, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s office filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission regarding FOX45 News’ coverage of her and her office. An FCC commissioner called for the issue to be dismissed.
While the leaders continue to ignore questions from FOX45 News, other people in the community have felt ignored as well.
