A Richmond gas station was charging $6.99 per gallon of gasoline Tuesday afternoon hours after Governor Northam declared a state of emergency following the Colonial Pipeline ransomware cyber attack that led to gasoline shortages in the state.
“It was a lot of people there, no one looked at the price,” said Lether Kerney.
Kerney took a hit to the wallet when she unassumingly pulled up to the Richmond BP Gas station on Williamsburg Rd. Tuesday.
“I had half a tank of gas, so when it got to $25 I started looking to see what was going on. And after I got to $30, I was like, ‘oh my God! I spent $35.45 to fill up my tank. Six gallons of gas for $35. That’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Wow! Gas prices at this BP gas station off Williamsburg Rd in Richmond now up to $6.99. When we arrived about 20 minutes ago it was at $5.99.

Good for them. That will stop hoarding and encourage gettting whatever gas is available to Richmond.
Buyer must ALWAYS be aware. No excuses.
That station will pay the penalty, eventually!
Price gouging at it’s finest. Hopefully the fine they get is double whatever profits they made.
The locals should boycott that place forever.

Not AMERICAN – enough said!
If I lived in that area, I would never buy anything from them again when times are good! I haven’t forgotten how Pecan Square Deli ripped people off when the pandemic first started. Haven’t been there since.
Time for Hefty Gouging FINES !!!!
Gougers Go to Jail !!!!! Keep on
Lock them the Hell up & set an EXAMPLE for the rest !!!! It will then STOP fast !!!!
