Nearly Half of Female Soldiers Still Failing New Army Fitness Test, While Males Pass Easily

More than seven months after the official launch of the Army Combat Fitness Test, or ACFT, nearly half of female soldiers are still falling short, with enlisted women struggling the most, Military.com has learned. The data again raises questions about whether the Army’s attempt to create a fitter force is creating more barriers to success for women.

Internal Army figures from April show 44% of women failed the ACFT, compared to 7% of men since Oct. 1. “Female soldiers continue to lag male soldier scores in all events,” according to a United States Army Forces Command briefing obtained by Military.com.

The Army remains in a beta phase for the ACFT. Until March 2022, scores on the test will not affect soldiers’ careers; officials have said they may implement additional changes before then, including gender-specific standards.

  1. “The data again raises questions about whether the Army’s attempt to create a fitter force is creating more barriers to success for women.”

A fit force is necessary to maintain an overall effective force. If minimum standards for combat fitness are not met, regardless of gender, the force becomes less effective. “Barriers to success for women” is not the issue. Combat readiness is.
As an interesting note, some men don’t pass, either.

  2. If there’s a ‘one-size-fits-all’ standard then only the fittest will survive – regardless of gender.

If you recognize that the two (2) genders are NOT physically equal and create two standards – you may need to require the higher standard to perform certain roles – that will limit who can do what – by definition…but your force will be better overall. You’ll have to ignore the whiny snowflakes that say “you’re keeping me from doing what others can do”.

The generals should decide – Do I want a fitter force or an equal and lame force? Not the politicians…..

  3. “…CREATING MORE BARRIERS TO SUCCESS FOR WOMEN>”

    Whaaaaatttt?????

We’re not talking about some “glass ceiling in some corporate environment”.

We’re talking about your ability to function in a combat environment (read that again, you woke bi*****).

I don’t want to be wounded in a firefight and have some out-of-breath soldier (man OR woman!) trying their best to drag me away, but can’t do it.
Or, some fat chick who can’t carry the weight of a .50 cal or the ammo she needs up a trail and we have to slow down for her.
It’s a WAR environment and I don’t care what your “dream” was…..don’t let YOUR dream get me or my buddies killed.

  4. Bob Aswell.....Realist

They had NO damn business in a combat theater to start with. In the combat zone they’re just another liability for a soldier to consider as this is his role in the natural scheme of things. Women AREN’T natural combatants. The group of dumbasses who engineered that scheme for votes have NO idea of what it takes to function on the ground under fire. They also have NO idea of the horror MEN such as myself endured in the sight of injury and mayhem with little or no modesty afterward.
Mental illness is the product of those who return battlescarred. PTSD is real and not something that can be reasoned or nurtured away such is the prerogative of the female.
The reason most of them are in training is because they have something to prove either by being homely, a lesbian, a criminal, or other social stigmas they hope to erase from their individual psyche via military service which could prove fatal. When the bullets fly, it’s serious business. When you leave your training company, and ship to a line company in the conflict, some don’t return. This is a reality, not a complex you grow out of. It is a reality only a psychopath can take in stride. It hurts body and soul.
Then, during the Iran/Middle East campaign, the contingent of females had a pregnancy rate of 38% while in Country. Their rationale dictated, ‘when we’re off we can screw awhile, who’s to be the wiser’? This certainly helps the cause.
I had a stint of hazardous duty (16 mo.) in South East Asia and under the conditions I felt like I didn’t have a friend in the World other than my buds. If most of these ‘nickel and dime females’ who would have cracked under the pressure of day to day operations were there, the suicide rate would have been astronomical.
My observation is ‘give the person a job they’re capable of’ and not a political showboat sham.

  5. Call me old school but I don’t think most women should be in combat period! There are certain jobs that they will excel at, the same goes for men. Men and women are different no matter how much we are being told they can do the same things. They can’t!

  6. Good news ahead?

After the enlisted girls who want to be boys get their surgeries on Uncle Sam’s dime they’ll pass the test with flying colors! Amirite?

  7. Men will be Glad to stay home from the WARS & let the Girls do the Dirty Work for a change !!!! Be My Guest !!!!

Just don’t get taken Prisoner , because we ALL know what will happen then !!!!
