Coca-Cola says it will raise prices on its drinks next year to offset the cost of packaging its products during the pandemic.
Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey announced the increase Monday on CNBC on Monday. However, he did not say by how much or which products would be affected
“We are well-hedged in ’21, but there’s pressure built up for ’22, and so there will have to be some price increases,” he said. “We intend to manage those intelligently, thinking through the way we use package sizes and really optimize the price points for consumers.”
The announced cost increase, follows the company’s public opposition to a recently passed Georgia election law, which attempt to further secure the state’s voting system but has faced criticism for appear to restrict voting, particularly among minorities.
Between this and Coke getting woke – I wonder if a Rum-and-Pepsi will work?!

Prior to the Georgia law PR disaster they had two other major flaps, one got some attention and the other didn’t.
You may have heard of their ‘be less white’ training; that got many convinced they couldn’t change their skin color but they could change beverage choices.
The lesser known action was their General Counsel (VP & Chief Legal Beagle) dictating to the outside law firms they use that 15% of the work they billed to Woke must be done by black attorneys. Pure racial discrimination. For reference, about 5% of attorneys nationwide are black.
Woke parted ways with him the other day with a $12M goodbye package and a do-nothing consulting gig over the next year; pure window dressing. You can seek out his photo, but why bother? You know the answer.
So part of that price jump in the sugar water is to paper over the cost of his hold-harmless severance.
That’ll make zero difference to all of us who hate the stuff.
