Body of driver who plunged into Chesapeake Bay found in North Carolina, group says

The body of a man whose truck went off the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel has been found in North Carolina, according to the Facebook page dedicated to the search.

The ‘Finding Erik Mezick’ Facebook page said Friday the 47-year-old’s body was found on a North Carolina beach.

According to the National Park Service, a body was found on Cape Hatteras National Seahorse Beach Friday morning. The agency did not go into details but said the body “appeared to have been in the ocean for an extended period of time.”
