Former St. Louis Treasurer Tishaura Jones defeated fellow Democrat Cara Spencer to win the St. Louis Mayoral race.
Tishaura Jones is a radical leftist who is very critical of St. Louis City policing.
Jones ran on:
- Jones said that she supported restructuring the police department’s budget to reallocate funding for mental health services, job training programs, and treating substance abuse.
- Jones said that she would reinstate the position of deputy mayor for racial equity and require the city to view decision-making and expanded economic opportunities through the lens of racial equity.
- Jones said that she supported social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing proper hygiene to combat COVID-19. Jones said the city must begin preparing for the next crisis to make the city more resilient.
