‘I’m tired of it’ | 9 people dead to DC gun violence in an 8-day span, police reports show

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported at least 17 people were shot in D.C. from March 27 to April 3. MPD reported nine of those victims died.

The District’s most recent shooting deaths, a double homicide that left two brothers dead, happened Saturday night on Fourth Street in Southeast D.C., a few blocks away from where police said a 34-year-old man died last Saturday.

So far this year MPD data shows homicides are up 22% compared to 2020.

2020 was a historically violent year as MPD reported the highest number of homicides since 2004.

“I’m tired of it,” a man who lives in the community and wished to conceal his identity. “I know everyone in this neighborhood is tired of it. I’m speechless right now. It’s sad.”

  1. Northwest Woodsman: Another example of the fallacy of BlackLives Matter. They only matter to naive whites who have never had any significant contact or interaction with members of the negro race. It is just a component of their violent culture embedded in their genetic composition from thousands of years of tribal rivalry in their homelands in Africa, where this continues to the present. Our forefathers made a huge mistake bringing that incompatible culture here, however, they maintained control over the issue until the 50s and 60s when misguided politicians turned these tribal marauders loose on our streets mainly because they saw blacks as a source for democrat votes. That is exactly the result and we have to deal with the aftermath every day.

  2. Northwest Woodsman: Wow, how politically correct sbynews has gotten regarding truthful, factual comments regarding the tribal marauders that roam our streets and cause so much havoc. Facts are facts and usually don’t coincide with the official narrative. Refute that if you are able!

  3. If you would notice most of the gun crime with the highest mortality rates are in the cities with the strongest gun laws and I will be they are not “LEGAL” guns either. Better hold on to your weapons to protect you from this garbage.
