Undergraduate students at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, voted last week for the Ivy League school to offer reparations to the descendants of enslaved people who labored on campus.
“The murder of George Floyd influenced everything,” Jason Carroll, the student body president who organized the vote, said. “His passing, as well as the Black Lives Matter movement’s resurgence over this past summer, rocketed Black issues into the mainstream in a way where it really wasn’t before.”
Carroll, who is a descendant of enslaved people, said he’s grown tired of “liberal institutions like Brown publicly professing their ideals to address racial harm and justice. This institution is built off of racial harm and injustice, and there’s really not been much done about that.”

Has anyone noticed how all the TV commercials are becoming less and less white? Close to 50% of the commercials are now showing interracial couples/families as if that is normal?
The commercials are becoming browner where you are seeing more Middle Eastern, black and Asians dominating the commercials.
Many of the commercials are showing rich black families in nice homes and taking nice trips. We all know that isn’t true.
They are doing away with “White Privilege” right under our noses and no one is even noticing. This is more like Reverse Racism.

I have never owned a slave nor did my parents or my grandparents. That’s as far back as I can go; I do not feel I need to give reparation.
Reparations should be paid to anyone who is alive and was a slave by anyone who is alive and owned slaves.
White Americans ended slavery if reparations are in order they should come from African Muslims and England as well as Jewish owned merchant ships

I want reparations for my white ancestors from Ireland who were slaves. White America calls it “Indentured Servants” but anyone with intelligence knows that the Irish were slaves as well. Why American historians called them “indentured servants” is beyond me. I’m thinking that white Americans didn’t want to associate their white ancestors as slaves like the slaves from Africa. I think this is what they did to sugarcoat the slavery part but what they did was create an argument today with the Snowflakes denying the Irish were slaves. We need to change that way of thinking and make it what it is. White Americans had ancestors who were slaves as well.
