New Gun Safety Laws Proposed in Delaware

In the shadow of two mass shootings in America, Delaware’s democratic leaders are considering new gun safety measures.

“The time has passed, we should have done this long ago. we introduced two of these bills two years ago. There was a little bit of a delay, at that time and then last year of course COVID hit so we weren’t able to get the bills that were introduced in the 150th general assembly,” said Senate President Pro Tempore Dave Sokola (D-Newark).

Senator Sokola, the primary sponsor behind SB6, is proposing outlawing the sale of large-capacity magazines that hold more than 17 rounds. The bill also aims to create a buyback program, which would give gun owners up until June 30, 2022 to sell their large-capacity magazines back to the state.

“Limits for public safety are reasonable, and they have withstood court challenges in other states, and so I believe it’s long past time that we put a limit here. The entire country lived for ten years with a ten round capacity limit – from 1995 to 2005,” said Sokola.

  1. So it begins the instant creation of criminals for those who REFUSE to abide by this infringment..WILL NEVER turn in my magaizines..this proposal. This hopefully will not pass..as both democrats and republicans will be impacted by this infringement..GOOD LUCK tyrants..if you do this it will be AGAINST what the people want..

  2. Damorat says it all. I have used and owned all sorts of firearms since being born on a farm in Somerset County for nearly eighty years. Not once have I used it towards a fellow man. If you had a difference with someone that got as far as fisticuffs, so be it. You either give or receive a thrashing, you don’t go after your weapon even if on the receiving end. You were raised that way, no need to go postal. You get over it and move on. The problem is not firearms, it’s often parenting. Firearms may come in handy if your life is in jeopardy though. After all, damorats know what is best for you and yours. The scary thing is that they are holding office everywhere. They are even in the White House. Bet they will change the name of our house before long. One of those nut jobs will realize White is offensive and racist (whatever that means).

  3. Let’s see, a lawmaker who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States is proposing a law to “Infringe” on it and violate his oath, time to fire his ass!

  4. Instead of sending some poor, under-armed cops to die in local neighborhoods and around rural farmhouses, trying to take loaded weapons from people who know how to use them, why don’t you bad-ass politicians PERSONALLY show up?
If you are smart, you get a dog that barks at falling leaves and squirrels making noise.
You keep a loaded gun in every room.
Not locked and stored, but absolutely ready for action immediately.
When you see more than one cop, you better know they aren’t there to ASK you anything.
When you hear that dog, grab a weapon and be ready for a fight.
These liberal sissy bi***es sit around in their mansions and government enclaves and preach to the serfs about how they should live and behave. While they are protected by MEN WITH GUNS.
This ain’t Australia or Great Britain. We WILL fight back, so please, get this thing going.
Or are there more “gun control” measures you scared little girlie boys need to push before you think 80 million (read that again, Mr. Politician) men and women will be subdued??
    Come and get ’em.
