Restaurants and small businesses are struggling to find employees as the government continues to provide so much financial assistance in response to the coronavirus pandemic that it can be more cost-effective for some to remain unemployed.
“Every small business and small restaurant is hurting right now because the government is paying people to stay home, basically,” Illinois restaurant owner Nick Morganthaller told WCIA-TV in Champaign.
“Staffing is impossible. It’s impossible to find anybody that wants to come to work,” he said.
Morganthaller, who owns two restaurants in Decatur, said that even though he has had ads out looking for employees for weeks, he hasn’t received many applications.
“The government has made it too easy, just basically all the stimulus money and then the extra money on the unemployment. And then extending the unemployment for people that have just been on unemployment,” he said.
“They make more money to stay home than work.”
what a load of garbage. employers pay crap, no one applies. businesses get a reputation for being a shitty place to work, no one applies.
respect and pay your staff better and people will be knocking on your door for a job.

In Salisbury crime is up especially theft and we already have hugh houses in the Presidents Neighborhood area filled to the rafters, multiple vehicles in the drive ways and front yards and you can bet they have no green cards, because they don’t work they just steal and live off of what we give them for free. The electrical boxes on the outside of the houses are in some cases as many as five, the mail boxes # 1-5. The dishes for cable on the rooves and yards look like Star Wars but no inspectors see them no real census is ever done. The vehicles over flow to parking lots, churches, side streets are bumper to bumper. Get a clue what do you think this means? And more immigrants will be coming and no ICE around. Buckle down “BURY” it’s about to get worse.
