Tax on E-Cigarettes and Cigarettes to increase by $1.75 starting Monday

Last month the Maryland Democratic House of Delegates overrode a bill which was vetoed  by Governor Hogan that will cause an increase in the tax on tobacco products.

The bill will bump the tax on cigarettes from $2.00 up to $3.75 a pack.

You will see the increase starting Monday.

  1. These stupid moves reduce tax intake and DO NOT INCREASE REVENUE..i for one work in VA live in MD ..so i NEVER BUY my VAPE supplies gas or beer in MD!!

  2. Yeah, I remember the last time Maryland increased the cigarette tax about 12 or 15 ago. The revenue actually went down substantially because smokers simply drove to Delaware, Virginia or West Virginia which have much cheaper ciggies because of lower taxes.

  3. TAX on EVERYTHING increases now with Biden in office !!!! TAX & SPEND Democrats running Your Govt !!!!!

Gas already through the Roof @ near $3.00 Gal !!!! You should have Kept TRUMP in Office you Fools !!!!!!

  4. Delaware and Virginia will love it. MD doesn’t make more money…………it loses more than the extra tax money brings………way more. Maryland is the tax hell state. Why not put that tax on booze?? I’d go for that if we must have increased taxes on anything.

    1. Booze in md is already too high thats why we go to DE.

Gasoline would be better since the majority use gasoline to include out of staters up and down the I95 and I70 cooridors.

  5. And of course MD once again allowing all the surrounding States to legalize marijuana but they still insist on the good old boy network state run over priced marxist control

  6. good luck with that! not sure, might be a difficult decision to drive 15 miles to save a tank of gas! fools!
