Camden Yards to open at 50% capacity for Orioles games

Governor Larry Hogan and the state of Maryland announced some exciting news for Orioles fans Tuesday afternoon as they began to roll back coronavirus-related restrictions in many public places.G

That included Oriole Park at Camden Yards, slated to host 81 home games this MLB season.

The stadium will be limited to 50% capacity to begin the year, with the possibility for more over the summer as the state continues to try to get the pandemic under control. The Orioles have not yet addressed their exact number of fans allowed in under these new guidelines.

Fans will still be required to wear masks and socially distance at the park, but this is still a major step forward for fans looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Orioles should be more fun to watch this season than the last couple of years, as the next young core of prospects continue to graduate to the major leagues. Even if they are still competing for a top draft pick (which is just a nice way of saying “losing 100-plus games”) it will still be refreshing to spend an afternoon at the ballpark after a year of quarantining.

  1. Dollars over lives. Hope Maryland has 90k ventilators. Cuomo should be in charge of Maryland also his leadership is the gold standard.

  2. Better view from the seat in my house, to include grub and no line in the bathroom. No commuting, no parking.

Hell the neighborhood bar is a quick walk and they need the money more than professional owners!

Hasn’t anyone learned that over the last YEAR?

  3. I’m watching no sports of any kind now for over a year. Anyone watching sports is just helping the “cancel Culture and blm cause.

  4. Screw Angelos and the orioles Organization, The Angelos Family has ruined that Franchise and ran it into the Ground. Professional Sports are dead to me!!!!
