The total budget for Baltimore’s public school system is $1.2 billion
Baltimore public schools spend more than $17,000 in taxpayer funds per student.
The district ranks No. 3 for the most money spent per student in Maryland, according to a 2019 report from the Maryland Department of Legislative Services.
The $17,493 total spent per pupil is broken down into $1,482 in federal funding, $12,223 in state funding, $3,703 in local funding, and $85 in “miscellaneous” funding.
The total budget for the Baltimore school district is $1.2 billion, 70% of which comes from taxpayer funds, according to Fox 4
The mismanagement of Baltimore City Schools has been taken place for some 3-4 years now. Isn’t that Governor Hogan’s entire current term? Why is he just now demanding an investigation? The State should simply take over the City school system NOW and figure who’s not doing a proper job later since we already know that they can’t do a proper job.
This is not something you can simply throw a face mask and social distancing at.
Totally Insane !!
Follow the money trail, then let leadership heads roll for their lack of fiscal managememt.
If you know it, state it. If you don’t keep your lips shut. Simply stating an opinion fixes nothing.
So, doing the simple math:: Baltimore is only paying for 25% the costs associated with educating THEIR kids. The rest of us pay 75% of the Baltimore costs plus those for OUR kids. Governor Hogan thinks this is fair and equitable? Governor Hogan thinks State employees deserve a $1,000 “thank you” check while taxpayers continue to be soaked by Government taxation?
The solution.. defund public education get Maryland out of the bloated failure. issue vouchers
Another black failure just another of so many failures that blacks have done and comrade Hogan and I pay for it.
Let’s be fair. If you contribute to the decay, say so. If you don’t (or have a plan), say so. Otherwise admit that you are part of the problem. Someone has to.
Or, maybe nobody cares anymore…
