Gov. Hogan is proposing a $1,000 bonus for state employees.
Hogan submitted a $74 million supplemental budget on Monday to provide for the bonuses.
The governor’s office says the bonuses are made possible in part by the early and aggressive budget actions taken last year in response to projected revenue impacts from COVID-19.
Hogan says the bonuses recognize the hard work of state employees, who have overcome significant challenges to deliver essential services to Marylanders during this public health emergency.
The supplemental budget for the bonuses will need approval by the General Assembly. If they are approved, they would take effect April 14 for most employees and April 21 for University System of Maryland employees

Quit the whining! Why shouldn’t this money be returned to the taxpayers!?!?!?!?! It’s not YOURS just because you didn’t spend it. Hogan has spent enough money from taxpayers all over the State to create 1.31 gpa (passing) high school students in Baltimore City! Enough is enough.

For those who don’t believe State Retirees should get nothing is total BS. We were the ones who had to take sary decreases for years by having to take mandatory furlough days without pay and no pay raises.
How many of you idiots were mandate to take days off without pay or received no pay raise? By the way you are just as lazy as the worst State employee.
