Harris Issues Statement on Defunding the Police Bill

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 1280, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021:

“A ‘Defund the Police’ bill is the last thing we should do while we have record murder rates in Baltimore City, increasing violent crime throughout the nation, and record low morale among our men and women who make up the thin blue line.  Congress should know better how to protect Americans from rampant violence they witness every day.”

  1. Sorry Andy, How soon we forget that during 911 the police forces were militarized. With all that miltary surplus equipment & funding… I for one questioned that move?I would not want to be a cop today since they have been transformed to GESTPO armies.
Worried about crime in MDs hellhole democrat S#$%shows. Get conceled carry permits issued. Allow citizens to excerise our GOD given right to protect themselves. we will save allot of money..less cops , less courts less prison space needed..
