City student passes 3 classes in four years, ranks near top half of class with 0.13 GPA

BALTIMORE (WBFF) – A shocking discovery out of a Baltimore City high school, where Project Baltimore has found hundreds of students are failing. It’s a school where a student who passed three classes in four years, ranks near the top half of his class with a 0.13 grade point average.

Tiffany France thought her son would receive his diploma this coming June. But after four years of high school, France just learned, her 17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade.

“He’s stressed and I am too. I told him I’m probably going to start crying. I don’t know what to do for him,” France told Project Baltimore. “Why would he do three more years in school? He didn’t fail, the school failed him. The school failed at their job. They failed. They failed, that’s the problem here. They failed. They failed. He didn’t deserve that.”

  1. Where was Tiffany during these 4 years?

I won’t ask about the other parental unit…know the answer.

    SHEEESH!

  2. The buck stops in Annapolis, where teachers’ union $$$
and incessant lobbying dictate a continuous, decades long
stream of flawed policy and curricula, a stream that
    seemingly has no end.
Baltimore City wins the prize for swallowing the most state funding per student,
significantly more than any county except Somerset, yet
year after year their performance numbers are progressively
    moving downward.
A whole lot of highly educated people have been calling
the shots, but what they’ve put in place hasn’t worked, and
shows no sign of ever working. Punishing smart and talented
students by dragging down classroom instruction, meaningful
discussion and debate with oppositional, psychologically and
socially needy students evidently only there for government
mandated daycare is destructive and abusive to the very purposes
of schools and those they serve. There is no doubt that those
highly educated people in charge haven’t had a working
    clue for quite some time.
Maybe we need some new ones.

  3. Are you kidding me ??? GPA 0.13 !!

And his just as dumb mother though he would be graduating?

DID YOU EVER LOOK AT THE REPORT CARDS YOU MORON?

  4. You can’t teach them if they won’t learn. It’s like trying to push a cow uphill with a wet rope. This full story has not been told.

    1. The problem goes much, much deeper than education. >75% born to unwed mothers, perpetrators of 90% of violent crime, a culture that disses responsible behavior, politicians that promote and reward failure…. and on and on.

  5. Is there an echo in here!!! national school voucher program !!! now!! We demand it!!! You work for us and the current system is FUBAR. TO coin a marxist phrase. burn the instiution to ashes. Reimagine an education system without government instusion, CANCELED UNIONS, CANCELED marxism, no more tax sucking hell holes and unaccountable bloated useless BOEs
My advice if you have children get them out of Maryland public schools. home school or private is best.!!
I dont, but my taxes are being wasted. I see it everyday the incompentent youth these marxist indoctination centers are producing.

  6. Is he an “honor student”? He will likely graduate at Jessup! No more money for the failing schools. De-fund the schools, get rid of brick and mortar schools. All we need are online schools and 20 teachers. De-certify the union! End their reign of terror.

  7. nothing to see here, it’s racism pure and simple. tests are rigged against people of color everyone knows that. prolly should just push him through med school so he can help out those poor uneducated people of color in bmore! brain surgeon?

  8. Northwest Woodsman: Let’s not forget that we are talking about people who have an average IQ ranging in the 70s. They are already performing at their intellectual capacity and we are remiss in thinking things can be improved. Throwing more money and special programs will be utter failures just has affirmative action programs have been. Why is it so difficult to admit that there are individuals in our society who are unable to understand and perform to higher standards?
